MOUSE P.I. For Hire Secret Door Codes: All Shrewd Shrews Combinations

MOUSE P.I. For Hire Secret Door Codes

During the Shrewd Shrews job in MOUSE P.I. For Hire, you will encounter a locked door in The Depths that requires a four-digit code. There is not just one code — there are eight unique combinations, and each one opens a different secret room with its own reward or easter egg. Some rooms hold cash, others hide references to BioShock, Spaceballs, or the Fumi Games development team.

This guide lists every working door code, where to find the clue for each one, and what waits behind the door.

How to Reach the Secret Door in The Depths

The secret door is not available from the start of the game. You must first unlock and begin the Shrewd Shrews quest. Once it is active, follow these steps to reach the door.

  1. Travel to The Depths from the world map.
  2. Progress through the level until you reach the large elevator.
  3. Ride the elevator down and exit on the new floor.
  4. Turn left and continue in that direction.
  5. Look for a building ahead, walk up the stairs, and enter through the door.
  6. Inside the room you will find a panel with four zeros and levers beneath each digit. This is the secret door.

You can return to this door at any point during the level, including right before you leave, so do not worry about missing it.

All Secret Door Codes

There are eight confirmed codes for the Shrewd Shrews door. Each opens a unique room. Enter the numbers using the levers, then pull the lever by the door to open it.

Where to Find Every Code Clue

Code 2137 — Under the Platform

This is the first code you are likely to find. Crouch beneath the wooden platform that leads up to the secret door. Scratched into the wood is a tally reading 2 1 3 7. Inside the room you will find a table with 10 coins scattered on and around it. Jack Pepper will speak a line in Polish.

Code 0451 — Quick Loans Shop

Walk around to the other side of the shrew community and enter the Quick Loans shop. At the very back, on some paper, you will find the code 0 4 5 1. This is a direct reference to BioShock, a major influence on MOUSE P.I. For Hire. The room contains another 10 coins.

Code 1234 — Second-Floor Warp Pipe

As you climb through The Depths toward the pump room, you will reach the second floor. Look for a hook to grapple on, swing up to the ledge, and crouch under the wooden platform instead of going through the door. At the far end is a warp pipe. Inside the tiny room is graffiti asking, "Why did you get in here?" and a tally with the code 1 2 3 4. The room holds 10 coins and a broken barrel. Jack quips, "The same combination as my luggage," a reference to Spaceballs.

Code 3125 — Lost and Found

While chasing the magnetic hand carrying the valve, it will eventually drop the valve onto a desk under graffiti that reads Lost and Found. Before picking up the valve, look at the shelves to your right. The lowest shelf has a piece of paper with 3 1 2 5. Inside is a bizarre creature with glowing glasses, a puritan hat, and long rubber hose arms hovering over candles and an open suitcase. You get 10 coins.

Code 1920 — Jack's Old Office

Entering 1 9 2 0 takes you to a slightly older version of Jack Pepper's detective office. It looks mostly the same, but some clues you have discovered during the game are placed around the room. It is a neat easter egg with no major loot.

Code 2019 — Fumi Team Tribute

The code 2 0 1 9 opens a room with a desk and a blackboard behind it. The blackboard displays "[Insert Fumi team here]" and a note beneath reads "Fumi Team xoxo." You can grab 10 coins here. It is a tribute to the developers at Fumi Games.

Code 0316 — The Rock Photo

The code 0 3 1 6 opens a room with a giant framed photo of a bald, bearded, bespectacled man with his top off standing behind a rock. The meaning of this image is unclear, but you receive 10 coins for finding it.

Code 1224 — The Medical Room

Entering 1 2 2 4 opens into a foggy room with a reclining surgical bed stained with blood. Scissors, tools in an open briefcase, and Groucho glasses sit on a block of cheese. A med kit hangs on the wall. Jack calls it "creepy." You get 10 coins.

How to Enter a Code

  1. Approach the panel next to the locked door.
  2. Use the levers beneath each digit to raise or lower the numbers.
  3. Set the four digits to the code you want to try.
  4. Pull the large lever by the door.
  5. The door will open, revealing the secret room.
  6. Collect your reward and exit.

You can enter as many codes as you like. There is no penalty for trying a wrong combination, and each code can only be redeemed once.
